In January, I am beginning a monthly gathering of people who desire to grow in the area of leadership. Titled "Conversations on Leadership," participants will read a selected book on leadership each month, and then meet with me on a yet to be determined date to discuss leadership principles gleaned from that particular book.
On behalf of our church family, I extend our love, sympathy, and prayer support to the family of Laura McAfee, who "went home to be with the LORD" yesterday at her home on East San Miguel. She was 78 years old.
The Colorado Springs "camp" of Gideons International is seeking to recruit more current or retired business or professional men and women aged 21 and older to join their ministry of distributing copies of the Bible free of charge. This ministry organization is most widely known for Bibles placed in hotel/motel rooms, prisons, offices, etc.

Circle Drive conducted the annual Vacation Bible School July 12-16. "Journey off the Map" was the theme. I am grateful to report VBS attendance increased over last year's event. Most importantly, when the gospel was presented on Wednesday night, some boys and girls committed their lives to follow JESUS CHRIST.
Late Friday afternoon Billy Burleson, Jeff Bolan, Wayne Cantwell and I drove to Gunnison, Colorado to spend the night at a local motel in preparation for our Saturday hike of 14,022 ft. San Luis Peak. Billy and Jeff would be hiking their first 14er, while Wayne and I would be hiking our 20th.
