Last Monday and Tuesday I presided over my first meeting of the Executive Board of our Colorado State Convention in Denver. I really enjoyed the experience! The EB is comprised of 18 persons from across the state, coming together 3 times a year to receive reports, review financials, and vote on important issues.
Several years ago our church family at CDBC entered a wonderful partnership with Will Rogers Elementary School. Through our relationship with them, we have come to know this Bible verse more experientially: "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Kennon Callahan wrote a book titled "Twelve Keys To An Effective Church." It is sub-titled "Strong, Healthy Congregations Living in the Grace of GOD." He originally published it in 1983, and now has released an updated second edition. GOD has used this book to bless and inspire church congregations across America and around the world.
In January, I am beginning a monthly gathering of people who desire to grow in the area of leadership. Titled "Conversations on Leadership," participants will read a selected book on leadership each month, and then meet with me on a yet to be determined date to discuss leadership principles gleaned from that particular book.
