Dr. Mike Routt
Mike came to Circle Drive in February 2002. He serves as a visionary leader, and is currently leading the church through a total campus relocation. In his ministry, he loves preaching, teaching, and coaching/mentoring “younger guys” in the ministry. He also greatly loves the people he serves, those who are called “Circle Drive.” The church family affectionately calls him “Dr. Mike” because of his earned doctorate from Southern Seminary in Louisville.Mike loves hiking in Colorado, whether it be on a trail with his wife or a 14,000+ ft. mountain with members of the 14er club from Circle (he has hiked 19 of them so far). He also enjoys “diving into” a good steak, occasionally munching on a bag of potato chips, and eating at any Chick-Fil-A. He is the husband of Kathy, the father of Rachel, Holly (Scott), and LeeAnn (Jack), and is incredibly blessed to be “papa” to Daniel and CJ (Caleb Jackson). Mike is also a HUGE fan of University of Kentucky basketball, and loves to read, especially books about leadership and history and biographies, and enjoys working out at a local gym. His life’s verses are Philippians 3:13-14.
Executive Pastor; Associate Pastor of Students
Ross has been the Student Pastor at Circle for more than 6 years. He was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating high school in '97 he attended Ouachita Baptist University where he graduated with a BA in Speech Communications. While at Ouachita he met the love of his life Natalie. After college they were married and God soon moved them to Shreveport to serve at Broadmoor Baptist Church. He served there for almost 5 years as the Middle School Student Pastor before God opened the door for them to serve at Circle in 2008Ross and Natalie have three kids: Colton, Rylan and Merrak. When he is not at the church he is with them. As a family they love to hike, play and hang out at home. Ross is a die hard New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers fan. Don’t hate! He is an avid Coke drinker, cajun food eater and lover of bacon!
Associate Pastor of Ministry
Christopher joined the staff at Circle in 2011. He has attended CDBC since he was 3 years old and was called to the ministry in his late teens. Even though he has faced many difficulties due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (which gradually causes his muscles to grow weak), his trust in the Lord has enabled him to look past his disability and serve God in ministry. He is currently greatly involved in the student ministry, preaches on occasion, and serves where needed. Christopher has a B. S. in Ministry Leadership from Moody Bible Institute and recently earned a Master of Divinity degree from Piedmont International University. Christopher is interested in all things computer and technology, the Denver Broncos, and likes to listen to music. He loves using his technology skills whenever needed, enjoys the opportunity to serve and grow at CDBC, and looks forward to how God will use him in the years ahead.
Dawn has been involved in nursery and preschool ministry at CDBC since 2001. She has been involved in children’s ministry and care since her high school days here in Colorado Springs. She has also been a leader in the Awana ministry since 2006. Her passion is children and showing them the love of Christ. Her greatest desire for the Nursery/Preschool ministry here at CDBC is to love on each little one with the love of our Father while giving them a safe and comfortable environment in which to grow. Her and her husband, Doug have been married for 19 years and have 3 children. She has homeschooled for the past 10 years. Her two sons are now attending high school in a hybrid homeschool/college prep program while still homeschooling her daughter. She loves spending time with her family, camping, trail riding, kayaking and working on home projects.
Children's Ministry Director
Kathy has been the children’s ministry director (grades 1-5) at Circle since 2009 and has been involved in children’s ministry since she was a college student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Her passion is that each child and preteen who enters our church will feel the presence of God, hear His voice, and become a life-long follower of Jesus! Kathy is married to Mike (yes, the pastor :) and they have three amazing daughters, two son-in-laws, and two handsome grandsons! She enjoys mission trips, hiking, reading, Chick-Fil-A, and being with family.
Administrative Assistant to the Lead Pastor
Lori is blessed to work at the church since 2008. She loves teaching the 5th grade Sunday School class along with her husband Wayne. When she is not at work she enjoys long walks and hiking with her husband as well as working in the yard and spending time with family. Lori and her husband Wayne have two grown daughters, Lauren and Kayla, as well as a son still in high school, Ryan. Lori also has three granddaughters and one grandson.
Business Office Secretary
Sue Kellner, Business Office and Pastor Joel’s Assistant, has been with CDBC since May of 2015. Sue and her late husband Mark, moved here from Jacksonville, FL for Mark to become the Worship Pastor position at First Evangelical Free Church. Together they were in ministry for over 35 years in various churches around the country. She is also the Worship Administrative Assistant at FEFC, serving on the praise team and in the music office. Sue has 5 children, 4 grandchildren and one Apricot Westiepoo named Shiloh. Her oldest Son, Zachary and youngest son, Brandon are both Worship pastors, following in their dad’s footsteps! One of her favorite verses for this time in her life is Romans 12:12, ‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer’. Sue loves all kinds of music, sailing, any kind of craft and traveling to see her family.
Nicholas has worked at Circle since 2011 and has been a member since he was in the fourth grade. He loves graphic design and writing. Outside of work he loves anything and everything outdoors: hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, you name it. Above all he loves serving others and helping them meet their needs. He is currently studying nursing at UCCS in the Springs and hopes to do medical missions in the future.
